| Meadow Creek Ranch Bed & Breakfast Inn is celebrating its Sesquicentennial!
In 1858, it was a new plank house without electricity or indoor plumbing. Now it's a beautiful stucco B&B with air conditioning and wireless DSL. One hundred fifty years ago, the Wells Fargo Safe was kept in a room that is now a bathroom. The chickens never had it so good now that their coop has been transformed into the Country Cottage so elegantly decorated with antiques! Still you feel that you have stepped back into the time when the stagecoach stopped here on the way from Mariposa to Wawona and on into Yosemite Valley, following old Indian trails through the pines and oaks. | ![]() |
| Jesse Fremont, wife of General John C. Fremont who owned the Las Mariposas Land Grant & its gold mines, wrote about Meadow Creek Ranch in a letter about her saddle trip to see the giant sequoias in 1859. "We were glad for the abundant milk & eggs". Come stay with us on your way to Yosemite and enjoy our abundant home made fresh cooked breakfasts too. Like Jesse, you'll declare it a "haven of rest." |
